Technique Tuesday presents BJJ 101: Break Falls
BJJ 101 is a spinoff of our Technique Tuesday series, teaching you the fundamental building blocks of safe, effective grappling.
Kicking off our new series for beginner grapplers, BJJ 101, Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness’ youth martial arts instructor Moe Johnson joins us today to teach you how to break fall when taken down. Although not an offensive maneuver, the break fall is one of the most important skills to master in order to ensure you do not hurt yourself when training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Effective application of the break fall protects your head from slamming off the ground, and reduces the risk of injury to your joints which can occur when you land with stiff arms.
