Technique Tuesday: Hip Bump Sweep and Kimura series with coach Jim Fitzpatrick
Miller Brothers MMA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach Jim Fitzpatrick is back with a follow up to last week’s kimura from the closed guard, as this week he takes a look at the hip bump sweep. The hip bump can be used as an attack of its own, or in conjunction with the kimura, using the threat of the submission to break down your opponent’s base, making it easier for you to off-balance your opponent and sweep into mount. By chaining the two moves back-and-forth, you can keep your opponent guessing until a sweep or submission is achieved.
