Technique Tuesday: D’arce Choke from Turtle with Jim Fitzpatrick

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach Jim Fitzpatrick of Miller Brothers MMA in Sparta, NJ is back with another attack when you have a headlock against a turtled-up opponent. Similar to last week’s anaconda choke, the D’Arce is a head-and-arm choke finished by rolling with your opponent. In the D’Arce, the entry point of the choking arm moves from next to your opponent’s neck to under his armpit, a switch which will often allow for a deeper grip and a tighter choke as a result.

If you would like to learn from a staff which includes three Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts and four Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belts, then get started at Sussex County’s best MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym by calling us at 862-268-2660, or filling out the form below.
