Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness family raises $2,000 of in-gym donations for Mission 22 at Roll 22
Our Roll 22 event, hosted by Miller Brothers MMA coaches and United States Military veterans Mike Pagano and Frank Wallace, was a resounding success as $2,000 was raised with in-gym donations for Mission 22 to assist in their fight against veteran suicide. Frank, Mike and the students of Miller Brothers MMA – as well as guests from other local gyms – came together to grapple from 1 PM on Saturday, January 14 until 11 AM on Sunday, a 22-hour window which was bookended by our regularly-scheduled hour-long Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, for more than 24-hours straight of BJJ.
Turnout for the event was incredible, with more than 20 grapplers in attendance during peak hours. Both Mike and Frank, as well as Dan Miller and several of our students, took part in their own 22-round grappling marathons, going 22-rounds straight without taking a round off to rest.
Mike and Frank would like to express their immense gratitude to everyone who came out to roll with them, and to everyone who donated both in-person and online.
Mission 22 is a charity started by three special forces veterans to help veterans suffering from PTSD as well as other traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) with the goal of ending veteran suicide. The stress and trauma that serving in a war zone puts on every deployed soldier is immense, and it is estimated that 22 military veterans take their lives every day. If you would like to join Mission 22 in helping our veterans to receive the help and treatment they deserve, you can learn more at Mission22.com and can donate directly by clicking here.
