Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team takes home 4 Golds in 15-medal NAGA World Championships performance
The Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness Little Spartans led the way at the 2017 NAGA World Championships this past weekend, taking home 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals on Sunday. The six-for-six showing by the members of the youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team added to a haul of 7 silver medals and 2 bronze medals the adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students won the day before.
The Frey sisters were once again dominant at the tournament, with both Caitlin and Kristin winning gold medals in both the Gi and No-Gi divisions, while Eric Wittrien won silver in both divisions. The adults cleaned up in No-Gi competition, with Jon Finocchiaro, Ray Carrol (two medals), Anthony Guzman and Sorkristal Alequin all taking the second spot on the podium. The Gi divisions saw silver medals for Anthony and Sorkristal and a bronze medal in the men’s Blue Belt division for Brian Roth, who came through a tough 16-man bracket to earn a spot on the podium.
