Tyler Bayer victorious by submission in professional MMA debut
Faced with the responsibility of kicking off a busy week with six fights for the Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness fight team, Tyler Bayer made the most of the opportunity with a first round submission victory in his first professional MMA bout. Tyler made his debut at CFFC 67, following a 9-2 record as an amateur mixed martial artist and a 1-0 record as an amateur kickboxer, taking on Tim Lutke in a middleweight bout. Tyler used his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills to take Lutke’s back and lock-on the fight-winning rear naked choke.
Both men engaged on the feet early before Lutke initiated a clinch. Tyler landed several hard knees to the body from the clinch, forcing Lutke to look to take the bout to the mat. Once on the ground, however, Tyler set up a sweep to escape out the back door and take rear mount before sliding an arm under the chin to secure the submission.
