Professor Shorty Rock to fight in front of Dana White at CFFC 64 on Mar. 25
Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness’ head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professor Sean “Shorty Rock” Santella has long been considered the top flyweight outside of the UFC, and it’s lead to difficulties finding fights. Prospects’ camps turn down bouts citing a lack of necessary experience for a fighter like Shorty, while “champions” avoid Shorty in search of easier ways to bide their time while waiting for a UFC call of their own. It has become common for Shorty to have multiple bouts fall through for each fight which actually happens. Fortunately for Shorty, he’s not the only one Looking for a Fight, as UFC President Dana White will be in attendance to see Shorty as he takes on Team Alpha Male’s Joseph Morales (7-0) at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 64 on Saturday, March 25. White will be at the fights to watch as the sport’s #1 independent flyweight takes on one of the hottest prospects in the division, and a win could well see the victor become the newest addition to the UFC’s flyweight roster.
Shorty enters the bout riding a three-fight winning streak which has already seen him derail three fighters who entered the bouts touted as among the best young talents at flyweight. He most recently won the CFFC Flyweight Title with a dominant showing against Matt “SMG” Lozano, where he won by Rear Naked Choke at 1:34 of the 3rd Round.
Shorty’s bout will cap off a busy day for Miller Brothers MMA, as it follows up on Brooke Fahey’s grappling superfight at United Grapplers Association’s 2017 Spring Open. The team will be staying busy in the weeks to follow as well, with Mike Pagano in action April 1, Frank Wallace competing in a no-gi submission-only tournament on April 8, and another slate of fights to be announced soon for PA Cage Fight 28 on April 15. Good luck to all competitors, we know they are going to do great!
