Jim Miller to face Anthony Pettis at UFC 213
Two of the UFC’s most talented and beloved lightweights will finally face off at UFC 213 as Jim takes on Anthony Pettis in a fight fans have been looking forward to for years. Jim enters the bout as the record holder for most victories as a UFC Lightweight and now he will face off against a former UFC Lightweight Champion in Pettis.
The bout marks Pettis’ return to the lightweight division following a two-bout departure to featherweight, where Pettis earned an interim title shot with his victory over Charles Oliveira, but struggled with the cut, ultimately missing weight for his title fight.
Jim will be looking to bounce back from his last outing where he suffered a narrow majority decision defeat to Dustin Porier at UFC 208. Although Jim nearly locked up a submission, and battered Porier’s legs with so many kicks that Porier could not stand on his own at the final bell, two judges awarded Porier a 29-28 edge. A victory for Jim will resume his momentum he brought into the Porier bout, and would mark his fourth win in five fights, likely earning him a spot back in the UFC’s Lightweight Rankings.
UFC 213 will be held on July 8 in Las Vegas as part of Fight Week, and is headlined by a UFC Bantamweight Title Fight between champion Cody Garbrandt and former-champion TJ Dillashaw.
